Every Savers store has partnered with a not-for-profit organisation since the company’s conception, with the Burnside Park Hub Savers opting to partner with Red Nose Saving Little Lives – maintaining the Savers and Red Nose partnership that has endured for over fifteen years.

Red Nose is an Australian charity that supports anyone who has been affected by the death of a child. Established in 1977, the organisation is now one of Australia’s largest public health programs. Their annual Red Nose Day, first held in 1988, paved the way for national fundraising charity days and encouraged Australians to get into the spirit, wear a red nose, and “be silly for a serious cause”. For over forty years, the charity has made remarkable progress towards its goal of zero preventable deaths of babies and children during pregnancy, infancy, and childhood, with over 11,000 babies saved, $18 million invested in research, and an 80% per cent reduction in sudden infant deaths since 1989.

Savers’ partner organisations collect donations of clothing and household goods from the community, which are then purchased by Savers in bulk to provide these charities with unrestricted revenue to fund their missions. But that’s not all – Savers has also created a recycle and reuse program that has kept an average of 317.5 million kilograms of reusable items out of landfills every year across the globe.
