Community Fund Spotlight: INCommunity Care Services
Caroline Springs based INCommunity Care is there for local people who need emergency relief, money mentoring, COACH mentoring, marriage support and more.
Support services are all free of charge, thanks to the community and businesses.
Managing director, Carly Alexander, said they're putting the Modeina Community Fund grant money towards a new community pantry.
"It will have regular services for food relief and a community cafe so people that are in need in our local community can come and get what they need, "Carly said.
"We'll also have a dedicated office to meet with people who are seeking financial or family mentoring as well. So hopefully, we can help lift people out of situations as well as help them with the situations they're in."
The new pantry is scheduled to open in November just off Robinson's Road in Ravenhall, near Caroline Springs, among other services hosted by INChurch Melbourne.
"It's just a stone's throw from Caroline Springs and the first one in the area, you can spot it on the highway bypass as well - look for the bright red signage"
Carly said the biggest challenge for the people that help is ensuring they get the governance right.
"Policies and procedures are in place and protections for all the people that we expect to come in, while also thinking about the needs of the community and how best we can meet them or refer them to other services"
