From Tuesday 29th July 2025, eligible local not-for-profit groups can apply for 1 of 20 grants, each $1,500, through the 2025 Modeina Community Fund.
Each year the funding provided to recipients helps make wonderful local projects and programs possible.
The Burnside Springs United Netball Club quickly spend the money on their players, buying uniforms and covering fees, President Tania Polidano said.
“We were able to purchase playing uniform and subsidise fees for our members that are in financial difficulty, something that we are very proud to be able to do so no one misses out on playing.”
Mukhles Habash, President of the Socio-Cultural Syriac Association, said the grant received went towards a significant event they hosted.
“The grant was used to support the successful delivery of our Syriac Cultural Night 2024, a major community celebration that showcased Syriac heritage through music, dance, and traditional hospitality.”
“The event strengthened cultural identity, promoted social connection across generations, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community. The grant played a crucial role in making this celebration possible.”
