Modeina Local Controlled Burn Near Modeina

Forest Fire Management Victoria will conduct a small, controlled burn nearby as part of local land management operations.

Controlled burn period: Thursday 1^st and Thursday 14^th May 2025

Fire crews will choose one or more days with suitable weather to safely complete the burn during the controlled burn period.

Be prepared:

Asthma: Residents with asthma should take additional care. Consult your doctor if you have a medical condition and follow your asthma care plan if you have one
Laundry: Avoid hanging laundry on the clothesline if you see or smell smoke.
Stay indoors during smoky conditions: Keep windows and doors shut until the smoke has passed.

About the controlled burn

This is a low-level type of burn. The Country Fire Authority is aware and will be on standby to assist.

Location: Havana Circuit, Burnside. The area is fenced with no public access.
Signage: There will be signage placed on the farm fencing to notify everyone in the area.
Water cart: A water cart will be on-site for safety and to manage the burn.
