About controlled and planned burns in Victoria

Fuel management activities – planned burning, mulching and slashing – are routine activities that reduce the risk of bushfires causing harm to communities and property in Victoria.

Controlled and planned burns can also support plants and animals that have evolved to need fire for their survival.
