Lucy Rendina is the Secretary of the Westside Strikers Football Club, home to a large community of novice and experienced soccer players. We sat down to discuss how the club fared this year (2023) and what the goals are for 2024.

Ways to create a safer, more cohesive, connected neighbourhood

There has been a lot of research over the years, which indicates that knowing your neighbours, at least recognising them, will enhance your feelings of safety, wellbeing and mental health.

Located on the corner of Montmarte Boulevard and Lexington Drive, the centre is available seven days a week with three generously sized rooms for hire.
The Modeina Community Fund awarded 17 not-for-profit groups from within the Caroline Springs, Burnside and Burnside Heights areas with a $1,500 grant.
Successful recipients were invited to an awards evening at the local Burnside Community Centre, where they were recognised for their fantastic work for the wider community.

If you've spotted damage or something that needs fixing within your neighbourhood, you can alert local 'solvers' by using the Snap Send Solve app and website. Solvers include local councils, water authorities, power companies, government organisations, telcos, universities, and much more!
